A photo-etched detail set for the German Fw 190A-3 fighter in 1:48 scale from Eduard: fine metal parts, not an airplane model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A photo-etched detail set for the German Focke-Wulf Fw 190A-3 fighter in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Eduard. This is not an airplane model but a set of fine metal parts that replace or supplement the detail of a plastic kit. The photo-etched parts in thin sheet are crisper than molded plastic and carry the instrument panel, the seat belts, the control levers and small covers or details of the interior and the exterior alike. The material is usually brass, with steel for some parts.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190 ranked among the best German fighters of the Second World War. The A-3 version was one of the early production forms with the BMW 801 radial engine; it stood out for its sturdy construction, heavy armament and good handling. It was deployed above all on the Western Front, where it long remained a match for Allied fighters.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife and bend them over the edge of a ruler or in a bending tool. They are glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and it is worth degreasing the surface before gluing. The set is meant for more advanced modelers who can manage work with small metal parts.
The set does not contain the aircraft model itself; it serves as an accessory to the matching kit. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
