Eduard 1:48 Fw 190D masks is a pre-cut self-adhesive masking set made of kabuki tape, for masking the canopy glazing and the wheels of a model of the German fighter. It is not a model, but an accessory for clean painting.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains precisely pre-cut self-adhesive masks made of fine Japanese kabuki tape for a model of the Focke-Wulf Fw 190D fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit and it is not a finished model, but an accessory that makes masking easier and more accurate when spraying paint.
The masks are applied to the canopy frames and to the wheel rims, so that after spraying the glass stays clear and the tires stay free of paint. Kabuki tape adapts well to curved shapes, holds tight and leaves no adhesive when peeled off. The canopy frames therefore come out sharp and straight, with no tape to cut by hand. Before spraying, press the masks down carefully all the way around so that paint cannot bleed underneath, and take them off carefully once the paint is dry.
The Focke-Wulf Fw 190D Dora was a late version of the German fighter of the Second World War, in which the radial engine gave way to the liquid-cooled inverted V12 Junkers Jumo 213 in a lengthened nose. The aircraft gained better performance at high altitude and was among the highest-performing German fighters of the final phase of the war.
The set contains pre-cut masking parts only. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package.
