Photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the German Fw 190D-9 fighter. The extent of the set is given in the maker's instructions.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Fw 190D-9 is a late development of the German Fw 190 fighter. It can be told at a glance from the older aircraft of the same family by its lengthened nose and longer fuselage, which earned it the nickname Dora among airmen. It reached combat only in the last phase of the war, and among modelers it ranks as one of the most-built German fighters of all.
In 1:48 scale the viewer can already see into the cockpit and onto small areas of the airframe, so the difference between a plastic part and one in thin metal shows. Photo-etching allows a thickness that injected plastic cannot manage and carries a rendering that does not disappear under paint. Which parts of the aircraft this set covers, how many parts it holds and which kit it is designed for are given in the instructions; read them before you start building.
Leave the fret whole until the moment you really need a part, otherwise the small items are easily lost. Separate them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and choose tweezers with smooth jaws so that no scratches remain on the metal. Make the bends over a straight edge or in a bender. They are bonded with super glue, because cement for polystyrene does not hold on metal. Before painting, wash and degrease the fret and lay down a primer.
What is supplied is the photo-etched set. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
