Eduard 1:48 G4M Betty seatbelts STEEL: color-printed etched steel seat belts for the crew of the G4M bomber in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched seat belts from the STEEL range by the Czech manufacturer Eduard for the model of the Japanese G4M bomber in 1:48 scale. Compared with ordinary brass, an etching in steel is thinner and more flexible, so the belts can be made to sag naturally over the seat, rippled and shaped, without the printing cracking. Color printing that includes shading and the buckles means that you only shape the belts and glue them in; no painting of miniature details with a brush.
The Mitsubishi G4M, known to the Allies as Betty, was a twin-engined bomber of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service with a multi-man crew, from the pilots through the navigator to the gunners. Empty seats with no belts always look wrong on a finished model, and on a machine with such extensive glazing it shows at first glance. Seat belts are the quickest way to give an interior an inhabited, believable look.
Once separated from the fret, bend the belts lightly over an edge or draw them between your fingers so that they soften and can be shaped. Glue them spot by spot with super glue and arrange the sag of the belts before it sets. A matte clear coat at the end will even out the sheen of the printing with the surroundings of the cockpit.
This is an accessory set: the base kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package.
