1:48 Fairey Gannet AS.1/AS.4 in the form for outside and inside: the cuts are prepared for both sides of the glazing, that is for the reverse as well, which is visible through the glass.
Responsibility details are not available.
The double-sided variant of the set for the glazing of the carrier Gannet in 1:48 scale. Besides the outer face there are also cuts for the reverse, so the frames get the right shade from both sides. On a machine with such extensive and well-lit glazing that is not detail for its own sake: the inner side of the frame is visible from practically anywhere when you look into the model.
The fuselage carries three separate stations one behind the other and above each is a section of canopy of its own. The longer the glazing, the greater the area of inner framing that stays in plain view. The airframe itself is among the most idiosyncratic carrier designs: the wing folds twice into the shape of the letter Z so that the machine fits into the hangar below deck, and the AS.4 version carries a retractable bay with search equipment under the fuselage. The landing gear is robust, because touching down on a deck tolerates little give.
Start with the reverse. Apply the inner cuts before the glazing is glued into the fuselage, spray the shade of the cockpit and let it cure thoroughly. Only then comes the outer side and the top camouflage. The folding shape of the wing allows the model to be displayed with the surfaces folded, which exposes the glazing to a view from the side.
