1:48 German pilot winter WW I is a figure of a German pilot in winter clothing from the period of the First World War in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The figure from the manufacturer Black Dog works a German airman of the First World War in winter dress. The 1:48 scale corresponds to the usual size of kits of biplanes, so the figure will serve with a model on a stand as well as in a scene from a field airfield.
Aircraft of the First World War had open cockpits without any heating at all and the crews climbed to altitudes of several kilometers. Winter dress was therefore not an ornament, but a condition of flight: thick leather coats with a fur lining, hoods, goggles and gloves. It is precisely this bulky appearance that distinguishes airmen of this period from the later pilots of the Second World War.
Leather is the main theme here. Choose a rather darker base and create the relief with a fine dry brush along the edges of the folds, not by lightening the whole surface. The fur collar stands out when you flow a dark glaze into it and brighten only the tips. You will manage the glass of the goggles with gloss varnish over a dark base. In the reduced size of 1:48 it holds doubly that less is more, so lay the details out and leave them legible.
The pilot arrives unpainted, and the atmosphere will be given to him only by your palette of colors.
