German tank jacks in 1:48 scale from the maker Hauler are supplementary parts of vehicle equipment that on a model are placed on the hull or on the rear.
Responsibility details are not available.
A supplementary set of scaled-down jacks, that is a part of the vehicle equipment of German armored vehicles of the Second World War period. These are resin and plastic accessories. The set is used on an already purchased kit in 1:48 scale, or loose in a scene beside a vehicle under repair. It is not a model of a vehicle nor a kit.
A jack was part of the standard equipment of the crew along with the tools, a tow cable and spare track links. It was used when changing wheels, repairing the running gear and during recovery. On the vehicles it had its fixed place, most often on the rear or on a fender, and it was clamped so that the crew could get it down quickly. On a model it is a small part, but one that helps fill the typically empty surfaces of the rear and make the vehicle look inhabited.
Wash the resin castings in lukewarm soapy water before painting to remove the mold release agent and let them dry. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the area with a file rather than snapping them off. They are glued with cyanoacrylate, as cement for plastic has no effect on resin. A primer comes before painting. A jack tends to be dustier and more scuffed than the surfaces around it, because it was handled, so a dark base, a fine rubbing of metal on the edges and more dust than on the rest of the vehicle look good on it. An interesting variant is not to use it on the vehicle at all and to lay it in a diorama scene beside a dismantled running gear, where it immediately suggests a repair in progress.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
