A supplementary set of scaled-down tools that on German armored vehicles of the Second World War were carried clamped to the hull, the fenders and the side surfaces. These are resin and plastic accessories, not a photo-etched fret. The set serves for detailing an already purchased kit in 1:48 scale, or as small props for a scene. It is not a model of a vehicle.
Fixed tools are among the most conspicuous details of the exterior on vehicles of this period and at the same time among those the kits deal with most superficially. In 1:48 scale cast tools are often only suggested by a raised shape, so after painting and a wash all that is left of them is a smear. Separate parts have volume, shadow and the option of being turned, and above all they can be painted separately: a fitted wooden handle, a metal head, a dark clamp. For a model that stands in a cabinet at eye level it is one of the simplest ways to move the impression on.
The procedure with resin: wash in lukewarm soapy water, let dry, cut the casting blocks off with a saw and level the area, glue with cyanoacrylate, sand wet and do not breathe in the dust. Shave the original cast tools off the model flat with a scalpel and sand the area. When placing them, keep to a photograph of the particular vehicle you are building and do not try to fill the hull, as crews often moved tools about, lost them and replaced them, so incomplete equipment is credible. Painting: primer, the metal parts in dark steel with a suggestion of rubbing on the edges, the wood in a brown coat with an oil wash. Finally unify everything with a light dusting, so that the tools do not look newer than the vehicle.
This is a supplementary set, not a complete model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
