Eduard 1:48 Go 242B is a full photo-etched set for a model of the Go 242B transport glider. It is aimed at the cargo compartment, which on a model of this type is clearly in view.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set of photo-etched parts from the manufacturer Eduard for a plastic model of the Go 242B transport glider in 1:48 scale. It belongs to the full color series with pre-painted parts. The set is an accessory to a kit, not a model of the glider, and the model itself is not included in the package. The exact make-up of the sheets is not stated here.
The Go 242B is a twin-boom transport glider of the period of the Second World War, a structurally simple machine with a large cargo compartment in the fuselage and a hinged rear for loading. It had no power of its own; a tug aircraft carried it to its destination. For a modeler it is interesting precisely because of that space inside, which an ordinary fighter does not have.
The ratio of work to result is different on a type like this than on a fighter. The inside of the fuselage is large and open, so every part added is in view and contributes to the impression of depth. The pre-painted parts are glued on in their colors as they are and are not painted over; the metal parts in bare sheet are painted together with the model.
Finish and paint the interior before you close the fuselage, or you will make the work needlessly complicated. Glue with cyanoacrylate in minute drops applied with a pin. On the large inner surfaces it pays to try dry first whether the fuselage halves will still come together once the photo-etch is glued in.
The set is an accessory for building a plastic model, not a model in its own right. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
