A sheet of decals in 1:48 scale from the brand Model Maker for a model of the Greek F-16 in the anniversary scheme for 40 years of 347 Mira squadron. The set is an accessory for a finished, painted model, not a kit. There is a whole range of suitable F-16 kits on the market in this scale, older molds among them - and it is exactly with those that the set helps most, because the original decals tend to be unusable after years.
Older kits tend to have surface engraving either coarser or, on the contrary, shallower than reality would call for. Before applying the decals it pays to sand the surface with fine paper and only then varnish it - with large anniversary artwork a smooth surface matters more than perfect surface texture. Any lines filled in by sanding can simply be rescribed with a scriber and varnished again.
Spray the model with a gloss varnish, lay the decals onto a film of water and blot it off by laying a soft towel on them. If a silvered haze does appear under the film, prick the spot with a very sharp point and add a drop of softener - it gets inside and forces the air out. Thick edges of carrier film that show against the light usually disappear after a second layer of varnish. Finally even the whole model out with a matte or satin varnish.
The decals are supplied on their own. The kit, the paints, the gloss varnish and the softener are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
