This set from the manufacturer Furball Aero-Design contains precisely shaped vinyl (self-adhesive) masks for a model of the Grumman A-6 Intruder attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The masks serve for masking the cockpit glazing and other areas while spraying paint, so that the canopy frames and the transitions stay crisp and free of bleed.
The Grumman A-6 Intruder was an American carrier attack aircraft meant for use in any weather, by day as well as by night. The crew of two sat side by side, the aircraft carried an extensive bomb and rocket load and for many years it was the striking power of the carrier air wings of the US Navy.
Vinyl masks follow rounded surfaces easily. Stick them onto a degreased finish, press the edges down and spray thin coats, so that the paint cannot creep under the mask. Take the mask off while the paint is still fresh, with a sideways pull.
This is an accessory for a plastic model, not the aircraft model itself. The paints and the model are not included in the package.
