A set of precisely cut self-adhesive masking templates (kabuki masks) in 1:48 scale from the Czech manufacturer New Ware. It is not an airplane kit but a masking set for spraying a plastic model of the Grumman F-14A Tomcat carrier-based fighter. The Basic version contains masks for the outer side of the cockpit glazing, for further clear parts and for the landing gear wheels. Check the exact package contents against the manufacturer's information.
The templates in kabuki tape copy the frames of the Tomcat's large bubble canopy and the edges of the glazing exactly, so that after spraying a sharp transition is created with no paint creeping underneath. The wheel masks make a clean coat on the tires and the hubs easier and do away with laborious covering by hand.
The Grumman F-14A Tomcat is a carrier-based multirole fighter with a variable-geometry wing and a crew of two. With the US Navy it served to defend carrier groups and it ranks among the best-known fighters of the Cold War.
