1:48 Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat US Navy stars airbrush mask is a set of spraying masks from MH models for spraying the star national insignia of the US Navy onto a model of the F4F-3 Wildcat fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of self-adhesive spraying masks for applying the star national insignia of US naval aviation to a model in 1:48 scale. The mask is laid on a painted surface, sprayed over and removed once dry. The insignia thus arises directly in the layer of paint and has no transparent carrier film around it, which on matte blue camouflage often shows through with decals. This is an accessory to a model, not a kit of the aircraft.
The Grumman F4F-3 Wildcat was a carrier fighter of the US Navy with the Pratt and Whitney R-1830 Twin Wasp radial engine. Unlike the later F4F-4 version it had a fixed, non-folding wing and fewer guns. The Wildcat bore the main burden of the fighting of US naval aviation in the first months of the war in the Pacific and it became famous for its sturdy construction and toughness.
Let the base color cure properly and degrease the surface before sticking anything on. Transfer the mask with tweezers and press the edges down carefully, especially at the sharp points of the star, where paint creeps under most easily. Spray the white in several very thin coats; on a dark base it pays to lay down a light gray undercoat first, otherwise the white covers unevenly. Remove the mask as soon as it is dry, while it still holds a clean edge, and finally unify the whole model with a clear coat.
The package contains only the masks. The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
