This is a masking set, not an aircraft model. The pre-cut self-adhesive masks follow the shape of the individual panes of the canopy, so the frames come out with sharp edges and without the creep that arises when masking by hand with tape. The TFace designation means that the set handles both sides of the glazing. The frames can thus be painted from the inside too in the interior shade, which is exactly what sets a carefully built model apart from an average one when you look into the cockpit.
The Grumman FM-1 Wildcat is a carrier fighter based on the F4F-4 design, built in the factories of the General Motors group. It carried four machine guns of 12.7 mm caliber and served mainly from the decks of escort carriers. The Wildcat had a heavily segmented canopy with prominent frames and a fairly well lit cockpit, so it can be seen into on a model and the inner side of the frames is not hidden.
Apply the masks to clean, degreased glazing and press them down with a soft tool, so that the edge adheres perfectly. Usually the interior shade is sprayed on the inner side of the frames first, then the outer camouflage. Take the mask off as soon as the paint has flashed off, that is not after it has cured fully, when the film may tear. Residues of adhesive are easily removed with a cotton swab moistened in alcohol.
