This is a set of photo-etched parts in brass for detailing the exterior of the rescue helicopter Westland Sea King HAR.Mk.3 in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the helicopter but an exterior accessory for a plastic kit.
The set holds photo-etched exterior parts for the model of the Westland Sea King helicopter in the HAR.Mk.3 version in 1:48 scale - typically various covers, grilles, panels, bracing, footsteps and other fine outer elements. It raises the fidelity of the surface of the fuselage and of the rotor head.
The Westland Sea King HAR.Mk.3 was the British search and rescue version of the Sea King helicopter, a license-built machine of the Sikorsky S-61. It served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) for search and rescue, carried conspicuous color schemes and had equipment for long patrol flights over the sea.
Separate the parts carefully with a sharp knife or with photo-etch shears, make the bends along the engraved lines, ideally in a bending tool, and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or epoxy. Degrease the surface before painting; photo-etched parts hold paint better once a base primer has been sprayed on.
This is a separate set of photo-etched parts, an accessory, not a model of the aircraft. The plastic kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
