Three-dimensional full-color belts for the British Hunter in its strike, reconnaissance and training forms, scale 1:48, for the Airfix cockpit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hunter first left the ground in 1951 and became famous both for its clean lines and for the Avon engine, which gave it remarkable performance for its day. The later F.6 version gave rise to the whole trio of machines given in the name: the FGA.9 with a strengthened wing for attacks on ground targets, the reconnaissance FR.10 with cameras in the nose in place of part of the armament, and the GA.11, a training variant for the Fleet Air Arm. The type lasted remarkably long in service, with some foreign users even into the 1990s, and it still flies in civilian hands today. From its original pure fighter role the machine thus moved to work over the battlefield, where its calm handling at low altitude was valued. The cockpit stayed practically the same across the versions, which makes choosing accessories easier.
The belts have their color and their texture printed in one step and a visible thickness, so on a seat they look like fabric rather than like print. Working with them is the same as with an ordinary decal, except that they can be shaped over edges and corners. On seats with a dark headrest a painted restraint usually gets lost in the uniform area, and here that does not happen.
Let the seat harden after varnishing, then put a thin glossy layer onto it. Release the belts in water, transfer them with a brush and press them into the corners of the shell while seating them. Draw the excess water off and do not touch the part overnight. Once it has dried completely, even the surface out with matte varnish.
