Four turned metal Hispano Mk I 20 mm cannon barrels with flat recoil springs for the Hawker Hurricane Mk IIC in 1:48 scale from MASTER.
Responsibility details are not available.
According to the name the set holds four turned metal Hispano Mk I 20 mm cannon barrels in the configuration with flat recoil springs. It is intended for Hurricane Mk IIC kits in 1:48 scale. It is not a model of the aircraft but a replacement for the most exposed parts of the armament.
The Hurricane Mk IIC was the cannon version of the British fighter, with a wing fitted with four 20 mm cannons. It served as a day and night fighter and, in later service, also as a fighter-bomber. The Hispano cannon went through several configurations; the difference between the variants with flat and with round recoil springs is clearly visible on the protruding part of the barrel, which is why the manufacturer lists the two sets separately. This one is for the Mk I configuration with flat springs.
With four barrels on one wing the spacing and an equal projection matter most. The recommended procedure: cut off the plastic stubs, open the holes out from the original centers and first fit all four barrels dry at once. To align them, use a strip of masking tape stuck across all the muzzles, which will show you at once whether one barrel projects further or is turned. Only then bond with super glue. Degrease the metal before painting and use a primer for metal; the muzzles need only polishing and light weathering, as solid black paint takes away from the impression of metal.
This is an accessory to a kit, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
