A sheet of waterslide decals in 1:48 scale for a plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft Hawker Hurricane Mk.I. The first part of the Art Scale series is devoted to machines in Italian and Yugoslav colors, that is to markings that practically do not appear in the boxes of ordinary kits. The set is an accessory for a kit, not a model.
The Hurricane Mk.I was the first production version of the type: a Rolls-Royce Merlin engine, eight machine guns of .303 caliber in the wings and a mixed structure with a fuselage of tubular framework covered with fabric. The Hurricane was exported before the war and Yugoslavia was among the foreign customers; besides the machines delivered, some of the aircraft were also built under license. Machines in unusual colors and with a different system of national insignia give a model a completely different face from the classic British camouflage, and that is exactly why they are sought after by modelers.
Apply them onto a smooth glossy base. Cut the motif out close to the lettering, immerse it briefly in lukewarm water and leave it to rest until the film starts to slide freely. National insignia on a fabric covering look best when the decal settles into the texture of the surface, for which a softener applied in small portions helps. Once dry, varnish with a matte or semi-gloss clear coat. With prewar schemes it pays to give attention to the shades, because they differ from the standard British colors.
