A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale for a model of the German He 162A-2 fighter, known under the name Spatz. The metal parts refine detail that plastic cannot carry.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Heinkel He 162 is a German fighter of the very end of the Second World War, recognizable at first sight: a single jet engine sits in a nacelle above the fuselage and the tail carries two vertical surfaces at the tips of the horizontal tailplane. The machine was created in haste and with an eye to the shortage of raw materials, so part of the airframe is of wood. The A-2 version is among the variants that reached production. The Spatz designation is an established name for the aircraft.
A set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. Thin metal sheet makes it possible to produce items in a thickness that cannot be reached with plastic parts, and so to add detail on a model that would otherwise stay merely suggested. The range of the parts, their position and the kit they are intended for are given in the instructions enclosed by the manufacturer.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard backing and sand the remnant left after separation with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed scores, best of all in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat tweezers. Metal will not bond with cement for polystyrene, so use cyanoacrylate glue or epoxy and apply really little of it. Degrease the sheet before painting and put a base coat under it, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface.
The kit, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
