A base with the motif of the ruin of a house of the European type in 1:48 scale, intended as a diorama backdrop or a base for a display case.
Responsibility details are not available.
A demolished house is among the commonest backdrops for dioramas from the European battlefield. Collapsed masonry and a heap of rubble give a scene action and at the same time offer a place to stand a figure or to lean weapons. This base carries the motif of the ruin of a house of the European type and is executed in 1:48 scale.
The 1:48 scale is at home with aircraft and with a number of kits of ground hardware, so you will use the base under a ground model and as a free-standing scene with figures alike. It will also serve as a base that unifies the look of a whole collection. Before you reach for the glue, arrange the models dry and check how much room will be left to you on the area.
First wash and degrease the surface, otherwise the paint will adhere poorly. Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little way from the part and carefully sand the traces of manufacture down. Masonry looks convincing when you lighten the base shade with a dry brush and darken the joints with a liquid weathering product. Tune the rubble and the dust with pigments; on plaster, light patches of damp and worn places have proved themselves. The particular procedure for preparation is given by the manufacturer's instructions.
It will be reached for by modelers who want to give a finished model a setting without the lengthy building of terrain, and by figure painters looking for a setting with a story for a figure. Unless stated otherwise, do not reckon with the package holding a model, figures, paints or glue.
