The Henschel Hs 126 1:48 masking set for a plastic model. The ready-shaped templates are stuck straight onto the clear part, so nothing has to be cut out of masking tape. The set is intended for ICM or Italeri kits.

This is not a kit but an accessory to the build: a set of masking templates for the glazing of a model of the single-engined Henschel Hs 126 in 1:48 scale. The masks are stuck onto the clear part, cover the transparent areas and leave only the frames exposed. This is the single-sided variant; the manufacturer also makes a double-sided version with additional masks for the inner side. It is based on the dimensions of the ICM or Italeri kits.
The Hs 126 is a braced high-wing monoplane with fixed landing gear and a crew of two, used for reconnaissance and observation. The cabin has extensive glazing made up of several framed parts and a rear section for the second crew member, so there are unusually many transparent areas for a model of this size. Masking all the frames by hand is therefore a lengthy job.
Wash the clear part in lukewarm water with detergent, rinse it and let it dry. Lift the masks with tweezers and, once in place, press them down with a soft toothpick so that the edges seat everywhere. Apply the paint in several thin coats; a heavy coat seeps under the edge. Remove the masks once the paint has set, as a hardened coat is harder to work with.
The package contains masks only. The model, paints and glue are not included.
