Masking templates for the frame of the glazing of the cabin of the H.S. Buccaneer in 1:48 scale. They follow the shape of the frame, so it can be sprayed without the paint flowing over onto the windows.

Self-adhesive masks cut to the shape of the glazing of the British carrier-borne attack aircraft Buccaneer in 1:48 scale. They cover the areas of glass, the frame stays uncovered and is sprayed together with the airframe. The set deals with exactly the place where a build most often goes wrong, that is, with the transition between the clear part and the paint.
The Buccaneer had a crew of two in tandem and glazing divided into several separate parts, plus a recessed windshield with a marked frame. The curves are not symmetrical and the frame breaks off in a different direction in every view. On a shape like that, tape cut by hand either ripples or has to be put together from many pieces and the joints then show through. A pre-cut mask gets around this problem, because the individual parts already have the correct outline.
Mask and spray the individual parts of the glazing separately and label them right away, so that you do not mix them up afterwards, because once sprayed they look very similar. Press the masks down above all in the places where the frame runs into a curve. Spray in several thin coats; a thick coat has a tendency to run under the edge. Take them off dry, perfectly well only after all the painting and clear coating.
