Eduard photo-etched set for a model of the Hawker Hunter F.6 aircraft in 1:48 scale. Thin metal parts will refine the detail that plastic cannot manage in this scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hunter is a British single-seat jet fighter aircraft of the 1950s, one of the most successful postwar machines of its class. It flew with the Royal Air Force and with a number of foreign users and saw a long series of versions. The F.6 designation belongs to one of its fighter versions.
This is a set of photo-etched parts in 1:48 scale. An etching is made by etching away thin metal sheet, so the parts have a thickness that injection-molded plastic will not come near: instrument panels, handles, mesh, small plates and other fine elements look as thin on the model as they do on the real aircraft. The exact list of parts and their placement on the model is given in the manufacturer's instructions, which are included in the package.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp blade on a hard surface, as nippers would crush the edge. Level the remainder of the bridge with a fine-toothed file. Make the bends over a sharp edge or in a bender, so that they are straight and in the right place; an etching once bent is hard to straighten. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minute amount, and on larger areas a two-part glue helps, as it gives time to settle the part. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and cover it with a base intended for metal, otherwise the paint will chip off during handling.
The aircraft kit, paints, base coat and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
