This is a narrowly focused accessory, not a model. The package contains a complete set of seat belts etched from thin steel sheet and printed in color, so they are used straight away without painting. The set is intended for the cockpit of a model of the British Hunter F.6 fighter in 1:48 scale; the base kit has to be obtained separately.
Steel etchings are springier and hold the shape you bend them into much better. That is exactly what belts need: they are meant to look as if they hung loosely over the edge of the seat and sagged naturally. A brass etching straightens back more easily, while a steel one keeps its sag. The result therefore looks more faithful than with belts of plastic or of paper.
Separate the belts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface. Shape them carefully with your fingers and with tweezers over a rounded object, so that the bend is not kinked but flowing. Fit them only once the interior has been painted and has dried, otherwise you risk soiling them. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue in a really small amount, which can be applied with a pin. Do not spray the printed areas with aggressive varnishes. A light accent with a dry brush or a dark wash on the buckles will help the belts stand out visually.
The set is an accessory to a model, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
