A photo-etched set in 1:48 scale for detailing a model of the British Hunter FGA.9 aircraft. Metal parts replace the features injection-molded plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Hawker Hunter is a British single-seat jet aircraft of the 1950s, recognizable by its swept wing and the clean lines of its airframe. It served for long decades with the Royal Air Force and with many foreign operators and became one of the most produced British postwar machines. The FGA.9 form came about by modifying the airframes of the fighter version for attacks on ground targets and carried armament on pylons under the wings.
Photo-etched metal parts that complete a plastic kit of the Hunter FGA.9 in 1:48 scale. Thin metal holds a sharp edge and in small dimensions looks more faithful than a plastic part, on which the shape is already rounded off when the mold is made. The set therefore aims at the features where fineness decides the outcome. Which part belongs where and how many of them are in the set is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
Cut the parts off with a sharp blade on a hard surface and even the burrs after the cut out with a fine file. Run the bend in the marked groove and press evenly along the whole length, so that the edge stays straight. Before painting, wash and degrease the metal and lay down a thin layer of primer, otherwise the finish will rub off during handling. Use super glue or a two-part epoxy to glue them, and apply it in tiny drops with a needle.
The kit of the aircraft, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
