The photo-etched set 1:48 Hunter FR.10 landing flaps from Eduard concerns the landing flaps of the British reconnaissance Hunter. It is a metal accessory for a plastic kit in 1:48 scale, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A full photo-etched set aimed at the landing flaps. The parts are etched from thin metal sheet, are supplied in bare metal and are painted on the model. The set does not replace a kit; it is used with a plastic model of the Hawker Hunter in 1:48 scale.
First the separation, then everything else. With photo-etched parts the first step decides the outcome. The parts are held in the fret by thin tabs, and separating them is the moment when something most often goes wrong: a bent corner, a torn edge or a part that springs away and is never found. Proceed, therefore, by laying the fret on a hard smooth surface, holding the part with a finger or tweezers and cutting the tab with square pressure from a sharp scalpel. Never cut with a pull and never twist the part out, because metal remembers a bend.
The Hawker Hunter was a British subsonic combat aircraft with a swept wing and a Rolls-Royce Avon jet engine. The FR.10 reconnaissance version derived from the later fighter form and carried photographic equipment in the nose. It served mainly with overseas units of the Royal Air Force and, besides reconnaissance, kept its attack capability as well.
Even the remains of the tabs out after separation with a fine file or abrasive paper laid flat, so that the edge is straight, because every tag tells on a finished model. Bend longer parts in a bender, or between the two jaws of straight pliers, and finish the bend with the pressure of a flat object rather than your fingers. Degrease the metal before painting and apply a primer for metal.
