A set of photo-etched metal parts for detailing a model of the Hunter GA.11 aircraft in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The set brings photo-etched metal parts for a model in 1:48 scale. A photo-etched part is used where plastic does not manage the thickness needed - on thin edges, buckles, grilles and faces with fine relief. Which parts of the model the set adds to and how the parts are placed is described in the instructions enclosed with the package.
The Hunter GA.11 is a version of the British single-seat jet aircraft Hawker Hunter that served with naval aviation and was used mainly for training. It arose by adapting older production machines, so it differs from the fighter versions in its equipment and in its color scheme as well. The basic type comes from the 1950s, has a swept wing and lasted in service unusually long.
Separate a part with a sharp blade on a hard surface and level the remains of the tab with a file; pliers will bend a photo-etched part. Run the bend over an edge or in a bender in one movement and in one direction. Metal cannot be glued with cement for plastic models, which works by dissolving the surface - use super glue and degrease the surfaces beforehand. Apply the paint over a primer meant for metal. Keep a light at the side above the workbench, so that the edges and bends are clearly visible.
The set is for a modeler who is building a Hunter and wants to add detail to it beyond the kit. Tweezers with a fine tip and a steady hand pay off; the work is fine, but the result is visible on the model at first glance.
An aircraft kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
