The photo-etched set 1:48 Hunter GA.11 landing flaps from Eduard concerns the landing flaps of a model of the British Hunter in 1:48 scale. It is a metal accessory for a plastic kit, not a standalone model.
Responsibility details are not available.
A full photo-etched set aimed at the landing flaps. The metal parts are supplied bare and are painted on the model. The set does not replace a kit; it is an accessory for a plastic model of the Hunter in 1:48 scale.
The position decides the outcome, not only the thickness. Lowered flaps are a conspicuous feature, but they are easily done wrong. The angle of extension and the gap between the flap and the wing are not arbitrary, and the eye of the viewer notices wrong geometry at once. Before you start gluing, go through photographs of the real aircraft on the ground and note how far the flap stands out and how much of the mechanism is visible. A photo-etched part lets you do it faithfully, but you have to set the correct position yourself.
The Hawker Hunter was a British subsonic combat aircraft with a swept wing and a Rolls-Royce Avon jet engine. The GA.11 form came about by modifying previously built machines for the Fleet Air Arm and was used above all for training, flying from land bases.
Support the flap while gluing, because a piece of plastic profile or a bulldog clip as an improvised prop is enough to keep the part from sliding while the glue sets. Super glue sets quickly, so check the position dry first and only then glue. Once dry, check the joints against the light: if a gap shows under the flap that you do not want there, add a thin strip of plastic. Degrease the metal before painting and prime it.
