Hurricane aces of the Mediterranean and Africa, part 1, in 1:48 scale is a sheet of markings for models of the British Hawker Hurricane fighter.
Responsibility details are not available.
A Print Scale decal sheet focused on Hurricanes deployed in the Mediterranean and North African theater, in 1:48 scale. It is an accessory for a finished, painted model, not a kit. The subject is divided into several separately sold parts.
The Hawker Hurricane was a single-engined fighter of mixed construction: a lattice fuselage frame covered with fabric and a metal wing. It was powered by the Rolls-Royce Merlin V12. In the Mediterranean and over North Africa it served from the start of the fighting in the region, and alongside the fighter role it was used more and more as an attack aircraft against ground targets. The desert called for dust filters under the engine and for sandy camouflage finishes, on which markings stand out differently than they do on European schemes.
The national insignia on the wing and the roundels on the fuselage can be seated badly in a way that leaps out the moment you look at the model head on. It pays to measure the distance from the wingtip and from the leading edge before you apply them, the same on both sides, and to mark the points with thin masking tape. The tape doubles as a stop you can align the decal against. Look the model over from half a meter away and from above after each marking is seated, because a small deviation is invisible close up but not from a distance. As long as there is water under the film, everything can still be moved.
