This is a set of fine photo-etched brass parts for refining the plastic model of the Hawker Hurricane Mk.II in 1:48 scale. It is neither a kit nor a model of the aircraft but an accessory that replaces and completes details which are hard to injection-mold in plastic - fine panels, grilles, loops, cockpit features and other small equipment. The set is meant for more experienced modelers who want to lift the model above what comes out of the box.
The Hawker Hurricane Mk.II was the improved version of the British fighter with the more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine. It came in several sub-versions differing in armament, from the machine gun ones to the variant with four 20 mm cannons or with anti-tank weapons. They were used over Britain, in North Africa and on the Eastern Front.
Separate the parts from the fret carefully with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and bend them along the marked lines, ideally in a photo-etch bending tool. They are bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate), and on larger areas a two-part glue helps as well. The color and instrument parts are usually self-adhesive. The work calls for tweezers, patience and a steady hand, so we recommend the set to advanced modelers.
It is supplied as a photo-etched set for finishing a plastic model, unpainted. It is not a model of the aircraft; the plastic kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
