Pre-cut self-adhesive masks for the frame of the cabin of the British fighter Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIc in 1:48 scale. They are stuck onto the clear part, cover the areas of glass and the frame stays uncovered for spraying. The result is a sharp edge without a step and without retouching with a brush.
The Hurricane Mk.IIc was the cannon version of the Hurricane. It carried four 20 mm cannons in the wing and was powered by the Merlin XX engine. It found a use as a night fighter and as an attack aircraft alike and served on a number of battlefronts. The cabin has the classic sliding canopy with regular framing, and on top of that the glazing behind the pilot's head.
On a model the frame of the cabin is usually not painted in one color. First comes the shade of the interior, so that the frame does not act as bare plastic from the inside, then the base coat and finally the top camouflage. Stick the mask on once, therefore, and leave it on the part the whole time, that is, through all the coats. Spray thinly and in several passes, because it is precisely a thick wet coat that runs under the edge of a mask. Between the coats let the paint dry properly and do not restick the mask around the perimeter again.
