The Omask masking set for a model of the Polikarpov I-16 fighter in 1:48 scale serves for spraying the glazing and other precisely bounded areas.
Responsibility details are not available.
While landing gear bay plugs deal with a single place, this set is meant for masking a model of the I-16 fighter in 1:48 size generally, that is above all the glazing and the frames. On the I-16 it is a cockpit with small areas and fairly dense framing, where trimming tape by hand takes a lot of time and the result tends to be uneven.
The I-16 was a Soviet low-wing fighter that went into history as one of the first production machines to join a cantilever wing, a retractable landing gear and an enclosed cockpit. The short fuselage with its large cross section in front of the pilot meant a poor forward view while taxiing and sensitive controls in all axes, which made it an aircraft for experienced pilots. Many versions arose that differed in engine, in armament and in the solution of the canopy, so during the build it is in order to check which of them you are building.
The frames of thin glazing will not stand a thick coat, so thin the paint more than usual and spray in several passes. Before the templates are laid on, let the glazing rest after polishing, so that the polishing compound evaporates from the surface. If you build the model with the canopy slid back, expect the inside to be visible and complete the frames on the inner side with the interior shade.
