A multi-layer 3D decal printed on a backing decal paper, in full color and with fine relief, which reproduces the fittings of the cockpit of the single-seat version. It is not a kit and not a model of an aircraft but a detail accessory meant for Il-2 Shturmovik models in 1:48 scale. It saves time and raises the realism of the cockpit.

The real subject

The Il-2 was a Soviet single-engined ground-attack aircraft of the Second World War, famous for the armored hull that protected the pilot and the engine. The early versions were single-seaters; only later was a place for a rear gunner added.

Use

• Cut the part from the sheet, dip it in lukewarm water for about 15 seconds and slide it off the paper into place.
• The part has no adhesive layer of its own, so coat the surface beforehand with gloss varnish, for example Future, Klear or Tamiya X-22.
• Work on a degreased surface; on places with relief, help it along with a drop of cyanoacrylate.
• Do not use a decal softener or setting solution, as the chemicals would attack the printed resin.
