This is an accessory photo-etched set, not an aircraft model. The set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard is intended for detailing the two-seat version of the Ilyushin Il-2m3 ground-attack aircraft in 1:48 scale. The plastic kit is not included in the package.
Eduard color photo-etched sets are built around a pre-printed self-adhesive sheet with the main elements of the cockpit, the instrument panel, the side panels and the seat harness, complemented by further etched parts for the small items of the interior. The colors, the dials and the lettering are printed from the factory, so painting miniature elements with a brush falls away. On the Il-2m3 this comes in useful: the pilot's cockpit and the rear gunner's position are both easy to see on this type and the plastic parts from the mold necessarily stay coarser in the fine details.
Separate the parts with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, not by twisting. Make the bends in an etching bender or between two blades. Metal is glued with cyanoacrylate glue or with thin epoxy; cement for plastic does not hold on an etching. Degrease the unpainted parts before spraying and go over them with a base coat. Pre-printed color parts are not varnished; the print is a finished surface and solvent-based paint would damage it. Before you stick an etching down, sand the plastic relief away underneath it, so that it sits flat, and try it dry; once the etchings are installed there is less clearance in the cockpit than you expect.
The set is an accessory for a kit, which it does not contain. Glue, paints and tools are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
