Eduard 1:48 J2M3 Raiden type 21 is a photo-etched detail set for refining models of the Japanese interceptor Mitsubishi J2M Raiden. It is not a model but a metal accessory for a kit under construction.
Responsibility details are not available.
This photo-etched set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard contains fine metal parts for refining plastic models of the fighter aircraft Mitsubishi J2M3 Raiden in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft kit - it is an accessory that is glued into a base kit already under construction. The parts aim above all at the cockpit and the interior: the instrument panel, side consoles, seat belts and other small items beyond the reach of injection-molded plastic.
The Mitsubishi J2M Raiden (Allied code name Jack) was a Japanese single-seat interceptor of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service in the Second World War. Unlike the agile Zero type, it was designed with the emphasis on a fast climb and straight-line speed, so that it could intercept high-altitude bombers. It was powered by a powerful radial engine. The J2M3 version (type 21) carried an armament of four 20 mm cannon in the wings.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife, shape them in a bending tool and glue them with cyanoacrylate or epoxy. Once painted and brought out with a wash, the interior gains a great deal of depth.
This is an accessory, not a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
