A Jet Provost T.3/T.4 photo-etched detail set in 1:48 scale from the Czech maker Brengun is an accessory to a kit of this British jet trainer. The model itself is not part of the package.
Responsibility details are not available.
An aftermarket photo-etched set for a plastic kit of the British jet trainer in the T.3 and T.4 versions, scale 1:48. The set is cut for one particular kit, the Fly one, and adds details that will not fit into injected plastic in a realistic thickness. It is bought to go with a model you already have at home.
The Jet Provost was a British jet trainer in which students and instructors sat side by side rather than one behind the other. It came about on the basis of an older piston-engined trainer and for many years became the standard type for basic jet training in the Royal Air Force. The T.3 and T.4 versions differed from each other mainly in the engine used and in the performance that went with it. For a modeler the interesting part is above all the roomy cockpit with two seats, which is well seen when the canopy is open.
With a two-seat cockpit it pays to work in layers: first the floor and the side consoles, then the seats with their seatbelts and finally the instrument panels. Paint each layer before you cover it with the next one, or you will no longer reach the parts underneath with a brush. Degrease the photo-etched sheet with alcohol, apply a thin primer and put the paint on in several weak coats. Seatbelts are shaped by bending them over the tip of a pair of tweezers so that they drape naturally over the edge of the seat. The glass of the instruments can be suggested with a drop of gloss varnish or clear epoxy.
This is an accessory to a model, not an aircraft kit. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
