A masking set for the long glazing of the late dive bomber in 1:48. It covers both versions named in the title, both sides of the glass, cut for Hasegawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
By 1942 a dive bomber with fixed landing gear no longer counted among modern machines, but no replacement was coming and the front in the east kept calling for it. The reworked version therefore received an aerodynamically cleaned cowling, a stronger powerplant and better armor for the crew. That raised the speed only slightly, but the resistance to fire from below markedly, and it was from there that most hits came.
An anti-tank form with two 37 mm cannon in gondolas under the wing also came out of the modified airframe. The bomb rack went, the dive brakes too, but the fuselage and the glazing stayed unchanged. That is why a single cut serves both variants and why you will find them both in the title separated by a slash. The difference lies under the wing, not above the gunner's head.
The cockpit is one of the longest to be found on single-engine machines of the period and it is divided into roughly two dozen facets. Cutting it by hand means hours of work, after which a few frames are usually crooked. Cut parts remove that problem regardless of how steady the builder's hand is.
The cut is derived from the clear parts of the kit by Hasegawa. The molds of other manufacturers have the glazing divided by a different number of frames, so the set is not figured for them.
