Etched steel seat belts for a model of the Junkers Ju 188 in 1:48 scale. They replace plastic seats with no belts, or the coarsely suggested straps from the kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Junkers Ju 188 was a German twin-engined bomber of the Second World War, which followed on in design from the earlier Ju 88. It can be recognized by its glazed nose and its sharply squared-off wings. The crew sat together in the forward cabin and were held by straps, which are clearly visible in the cabin on a model, especially with open clear glazing.
Etched seat belts in the steel version for a model in 1:48 scale. Steel is springier than brass and holds the shape of a sagging strap better, so the belts do not look like a glued-on sheet of tin. The set is an accessory to a kit, and neither the model nor the seats are in it. The breakdown of the parts and their assembly are given in the enclosed instructions from the manufacturer.
Separate the belts with a sharp blade on a hard surface and true up the edges after cutting. Do the shaping in stages: first bend the strap lightly over the tip of the tweezers, lay it on the seat and only then shape the ends. Fix the finished shape with super glue applied in a minute amount, as excess would flood the detail of the buckle. If you are going to paint the belts, first wash the metal, degrease it and give it a primer coat. Fit the belts into the cabin before you close up the fuselage, otherwise you will have trouble reaching into a finished cabin.
The model, paints, glue and tools are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
