The Kübelwagen is a light German army cross-country car from the Second World War, built on the basis of a utility automobile. It was made in large numbers and served on every front. The designation Holzgas points to wood gas: fuel was short in the war years, so some vehicles were given a generator that gasified wood by incomplete combustion, and the engine then burned the gas produced. The vehicle gained a conspicuous extra structure and became a rewarding subject for a model and for a diorama.
This is a conversion set, that is parts that are fitted to a model from a kit and change its appearance. According to the name it is cut for the Tamiya kit in 1:48 scale; with a model from another brand count on the dimensions possibly not matching. Which parts of the original kit are modified or cut away and in what order to proceed is stated in the manufacturer's instructions, so go through them before you start gluing.
Try everything dry first and only then cut; with conversions the order of the work tends to differ from building out of a kit. Cut the excess material away with a sharp blade a little distance from the part and sand off the remainder. Before gluing, check what the parts in the package are made of: polystyrene takes plastic cement, other materials hold with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting, wash the parts, degrease them and use a primer, otherwise the coat will not hold on a smooth surface.
