A photo-etched set for the interior of the model of the Avro Lancaster bomber in 1:48 scale. It completes the cabin with thin metal features that plastic cannot manage.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Avro Lancaster was a British four-engine heavy bomber of the Second World War, powered by Merlin engines, that is V12s. It came about as a reworking of a less successful twin-engine predecessor and became the main night bomber of the Royal Air Force. Its long bomb bay and roomy fuselage mean one thing for a modeler: the inside is still clearly visible once the model is finished, and it is worth investing work in it.
This is a photo-etched set for the interior in 1:48 scale, that is parts etched from thin metal sheet. It aims at the places that cannot be made in plastic at the right thickness, typically the instrument panels, the seat belts, the consoles, the levers and the small stiffeners. The application of the set and the scope of the parts is given in the instructions supplied by the manufacturer, so compare the set with your own kit before buying.
The interior has to be finished before the fuselage is joined, so work the set in right at the start of the build. Separate the parts from the sheet with a sharp blade on a hard surface and make the bends in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat pliers. They are bonded with super glue. Before painting, wash the metal, degrease it and give it a primer coat. Once the interior is painted, a dark wash helps to pull the shadows out between the pieces.
The kit, paints and glue are not included in the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
