A self-adhesive mask for the canopy framing of the Let C-11 trainer in 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The canopy of the C-11 runs over a large part of the fuselage decking and is divided into several frames, because the instructor and the pupil each needed a canopy of their own. Glazing like that tends to be the most conspicuous place on a finished model: let a frame wander by a fraction of a millimeter and the eye picks it up at once. This set solves the problem with shaped pieces of thin adhesive film that cover the clear area and leave only the frames themselves open to the paint.
Lining the frames by hand with a brush is slow and the result depends on the day. With a precisely cut pattern, on the other hand, you spray the framing evenly, including the inside of the canopy if you want it open. The film can be lifted off after spraying with no adhesive residue and the clear areas stay transparent.
Lift the pieces off the sheet with a pointed scalpel, transfer them to the canopy and smooth them down with your fingers from the center to the edges, so that no air is trapped underneath. The interior shade is sprayed first and only then the outer camouflage. Take the mask off while the paint has just dried, not after several days, when the finish has hardened and might lift at the edge.
It suits anyone building this Czechoslovak classic who does not want to spoil a finished model with smeared framing. Modelers who glue the canopy closed will appreciate it too, because the mask also protects the glazing from overspray and fingerprints throughout the build. The clear canopy and the plastic parts are not included in the package.
