Photo-etched parts for a model of the F-35B in 1:48 scale. Thin metal gives the details a thickness that plastic parts cannot achieve.
Responsibility details are not available.
The F-35B is the variant of the F-35 Lightning II intended for short takeoff and vertical landing. It has a lift fan behind the cockpit and the rear nozzle swivels downward, so the aircraft can set down vertically and needs neither a catapult nor a long runway. The whole structure of the fuselage is subordinated to this, which is why the F-35B differs from the other versions in the shape of the covers on its upper surface as well.
Photo-etched parts worked in 1:48 scale for the F-35B. The plastic parts in a kit tend to be thicker than the scale calls for, because thinner ones cannot be injection molded; metal photo-etch evens that difference out. The extent of the set, and which kit it is cut for, is stated in the manufacturer's instructions.
Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface rather than tearing them off, or they will bend. Level the remains of the tab with a fine file or abrasive paper. Make the bends over the edge of a ruler or in a bender, always following the scored line. Photo-etch is bonded with super glue, applied to plastic in a minute amount so that it does not run. Degrease the metal before painting and spray a base color, otherwise the finish comes off while you handle it.
The model kit, paints, glue and tools are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
