Responsibility details are not available.
A Print Scale decal sheet for the Lockheed F-80 Shooting Star jet in 1:48 scale, the first part of the series. It is an accessory for a finished, painted model, not a kit.
The Shooting Star was the first American jet fighter to reach extensive series service. It had a straight wing, an Allison turbojet in the fuselage and air intakes in the sides. The original P-80 designation changed to F-80 in 1948. During the Korean War it served mainly as a fighter-bomber and it went down in history for the first jet-versus-jet combat. The airframe also gave rise to a two-seat trainer that flew on for decades.
A large proportion of these machines flew in an unpainted metal finish, and that is the most demanding surface of all for decals. Metallic paint is delicate: it will not take rubbing and it coats over badly. So prepare the base with a gloss clear coat that is compatible with your metallic paint, and try it on an offcut of plastic first. Put plenty of water under the decal, move the marking with a brush rather than a finger, and remove the excess only by laying a towel on it. If your metallic paint will not take a clear coat, apply the decals to an area that has been coated only where the marking goes.
