1:48 Lockheed-Martin F-16C Block 25

The real subject

The F-16C is the single-seat version of the multirole combat aircraft F-16 Fighting Falcon. The Block 25 designation belongs to one of the production blocks of this version; the individual blocks differ from one another in equipment and in small things on the airframe, so accessories tend to be tied to a particular block. It is exactly these differences that decide whether a model matches the real machine or merely resembles the type.

What the set offers

A set of photo-etched metal parts in 1:48 scale. Photo-etched sheet is thin and accurate, so the parts look more faithful than the corresponding plastic shapes and suit the places where a thin wall cannot be achieved in any other way. The list of parts and the kit they are intended for are given in the manufacturer's instructions enclosed with the set. The content is not itemized here, so follow the instructions and compare the parts with the plastic shapes on the kit before building.

Building tips

Separate the parts with a sharp blade on a hard surface, not by breaking them out, so that they do not bend. Make the bends along the scored lines in a bending tool or between two blades, and press along the whole length of the edge at once. They are glued with superglue, which you apply with a pin in a minute amount. Degrease the parts before painting and use a primer, because on smooth metal the paint otherwise rubs off easily.

Who it is for

The set belongs in the hands of a modeler who already dares to take on small parts: you need tweezers, a sharp blade and plenty of light. The reward is a fineness that cannot be achieved with a plastic part.
