The real subject

The P-38F Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter with its characteristic twin-boom layout, used in the early phases of the Second World War. The instrument panel and the side consoles of the cockpit offer rewarding room for detailed improvement.

Use

• With a damp sponge and a drop of detergent, moisten only the backing paper under the 3D decal and lift the element off with tweezers.
• Fix the lifted element with white PVA glue; the manufacturer recommends neither cyanoacrylate glue nor a decal softener, because the chemicals would attack the printed layer.
• The photo-etched parts (seat belts, small levers) are glued with cyanoacrylate glue.
