LööKplus is a bundle of accessories from the Czech manufacturer Eduard that brings together in one package a ready-made resin instrument panel with color printing and a seat harness, along with further resin sets for the same model. The point is to bring several accessories for one model together in a single box. The set is intended for a model of the twin-boom P-38G Lightning fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not a kit; the plastic model has to be obtained separately.
The Lockheed P-38 Lightning was an American twin-engined fighter with an unmistakable twin-boom layout, the pilot's nacelle in the middle and the gun armament concentrated in the nose. The G version is one of the early production forms with modified Allison engines. The Lightning saw use in Europe as well as in the Pacific, where its long range and good performance at high altitude suited it. The arrangement of the engine bays, the landing gear and the cockpit offers modelers plenty of places where it pays to add detail.
First wash the resin parts in warm soapy water so that the mold release agent disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a saw, do not snap them. Sand resin wet and with respiratory protection. Everything is glued with super glue; cement for plastic does not work here. The ready-made instrument panel does not need painting, just clean it gently and glue it in, as excess glue would fog the glossy faces of the instruments. The extras for the cockpit and the engine bays are installed before the structure is closed, so on a twin-boom aircraft think the order of the work through in advance.
This is a bundle of accessories, not a model kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
