This set from the Czech manufacturer Eduard holds painted photo-etched seat belts in steel in 1:48 scale. It is not an aircraft model but a detail accessory that replaces the simplified plastic belts, or the missing ones, in the cockpit. Steel photo-etch shapes well and drapes naturally over the seat, so the result looks more realistic than plastic.
The Lockheed P-38J Lightning was an American twin-engine fighter of the Second World War with a twin-boom layout. The P-38J version had improved cooling and better performance at altitude. In the roomy cockpit, faithfully made belts are one of the details a viewer notices first.
Separate the parts carefully from the fret, shape them gently into a real sag and bond them with super glue (cyanoacrylate). The painted print is sensitive to aggressive thinners, so choose a gentle varnish if you use one. The set is meant for P-38J models in 1:48 scale.
The set holds photo-etched belts only. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
