Responsibility details are not available.
A set of precisely die-cut self-adhesive masks for spraying the late variants of the German national crosses, the so-called Balkenkreuz, onto aircraft models in 1:48 scale. These are neither decals nor a kit: the marking is applied directly in paint, so it becomes part of the finish and has no carrier film at all. The designation part II means that this is a companion part of the line bringing further sizes and renderings of the late crosses; the individual parts of the line complement each other.
A sprayed marking has no glossy edge of carrier film, it does not silver and it creates no noticeable step on the surface. It takes a later matte coat, washes and pigment weathering better, and on the large areas of a wing or fuselage it looks more faithful than a single large decal. Another advantage is that you choose the color of the cross yourself, so the shade matches the rest of your finish.
Stick the mask on a perfectly cured, smooth and degreased finish; press the edges down carefully with a toothpick or a blunt wooden stick so that no paint creeps under them. Spray several very thin coats with pauses in between rather than one heavy one. With two-color crosses, spray the light component first, let it dry and only then mask for the dark one. Lift the mask off shortly after the paint is touch-dry, pulling at a shallow angle to the surface, ideally with fine-tipped tweezers.
The package holds masks only. The model, paints and varnish are not included. These are the national insignia of period equipment from the Second World War; the set serves for the historically faithful completion of a model.
