An accurate turned metal accessory for models in 1:48 scale armed with the six-barrel M61A1 Vulcan rotary cannon of 20 mm caliber. The package contains turned brass barrels and etched clamps that hold the cluster of barrels in the right position. It is not a model of an aircraft but a replacement detail part. Most modern American fighters are armed with this cannon.
The metal barrels are thin, perfectly straight and true, with a sharp muzzle and a clean bore that plastic cannot achieve. The etched clamps add fine and faithful detail to the cluster. At the same time a metal cluster is markedly more resistant to bending than fragile plastic barrels.
Cut off the plastic barrels, assemble the individual metal barrels into a cluster using the etched clamps and glue the whole thing in with cyanoacrylate. Fitting calls for care, but the result is striking. Better suited to more experienced modelers.
This is a supplementary detail set, not a complete kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
