Magenta rib tapes Fokker Dr.I / D.VII (1:48) are a set of color 3D decals from Quinta Studio simulating the tapes over the ribs of the covering of period German fighters. It is not a kit but an accessory.
Responsibility details are not available.
This set contains color 3D decals printed on decal paper that faithfully imitate the rib tapes stretched over the ribs of the fabric covering of the wings and the fuselage. Unlike interior sets, this is an exterior detail. The tapes have a characteristic relief texture and a suggested serrated edge and come in a magenta finish. It is not a kit but an accessory intended for markedly detailing models of period German Fokker fighters in 1:48 scale.
The Fokker Dr.I triplane and the Fokker D.VII biplane were among the best-known German fighters of the First World War. Their flying surfaces had a fabric covering stretched over a wooden frame, with reinforcing tapes stuck over the individual ribs. On a model these are a prominent and characteristic feature of the surface.
The tapes are applied like decals directly onto the surface of the wings and the fuselage along the lines of the ribs. We recommend a smooth, clean and preferably already coated base and precise alignment along the ribs. On curved surfaces press the tape down with a soft cotton bud. Whether a decal softener may be used on them should be checked in the manufacturer's instructions; with printed elements the makers tend to be cautious about it. The surface can then be evened out with a clear coat.
This is an accessory rather than a complete model. The kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
